The Princess is celebrating her milestone birthday in Washington D.C. with her family. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie have lived in the American capital since 2023, where the Prince works as defence attaché at the Danish Embassy.

To mark the birthday, the Danish Royal House has released a photo series taken at the family's home in Vedbæk in early January 2026, when the Princess and family were on Christmas holiday in Denmark.

Princess Marie was born in Paris on 6 February 1976. She married Prince Joachim in 2008, and together they have two children, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena.
