State Banquet in Lithuania: Royal Couple Honoured with Country's Highest Order
King Frederik and Queen Mary were guests of honour at the state banquet at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius. The King was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Vytautas the Great with Chain.
At the Presidential Palace in Lithuania's capital Vilnius, King Frederik and Queen Mary were guests of honour at a state banquet on Wednesday evening. The hosts for the evening were Lithuania's President Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė.

During the state banquet, the King gave a speech. His Majesty said, among other things:
"Mr President. On behalf of Queen Mary and myself, I would like to thank you for the warm welcome and for new unforgettable memories from here. I propose a toast to you, Mrs Diana Nausėdienė and to the Lithuanian people with wishes of friendship, happiness and prosperity for both our countries."

In connection with the state visit, the King was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Vytautas the Great with Chain. The Queen also received the Grand Cross of the Order of Vytautas the Great. The Chain is only awarded to heads of state. The Grand Cross of the Order of Vytautas the Great is Lithuania's highest honour.

The King has also appointed Lithuania's President Gitanas Nausėda as Knight of the Order of the Elephant, while the President's spouse, Mrs Diana Nausėdienė, has received the Grand Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog.
