The strong ties between Australia and Denmark were celebrated on Sunday evening with a state banquet at Government House in Canberra in honour of King Frederik and Queen Mary. The King gave a speech in which he called Australia his second home.

In the Australian late summer evening, the royal couple were received in the garden behind Government House by Australia's Governor-General, Sam Mostyn.

Before dinner, King Frederik gave a speech in which he said: "Australia is our second home. Whether we come here for a family visit or a State Visit, we feel both excited and entirely at ease."
