Momentet is run by the Deaconess Foundation (Diakonissestiftelsen), of which the Queen is patron. The foundation, based in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, was established in 1866 at the initiative of the then Crown Princess Louise, and has carried out care work in Denmark for 160 years.

During the visit the Queen met several of the young residents, who told her about everyday life at Momentet and the road towards a more independent life. Conversation flowed freely both in the common areas and out in the garden.
