King Frederik reads aloud in new season of Kongeord
King Frederik X has recorded new episodes of the popular program Kongeord, where he reads aloud from Danish literature.
King Frederik X has recorded the audiobook for the popular book 'Kongeord' at Amalienborg. Two years after the change of throne, the Royal House is now making the book available for free as an e-book and audiobook on kongehuset.dk.
King Frederik recorded the audiobook at Amalienborg at the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. With his characteristically warm voice, the King himself reads the book that provides insight into his thoughts and values.

In Kongeord - which was published in 2024 - King Frederik puts words to the royal duties and the royal motto: 'Connected, committed, for the Kingdom of Denmark'. The book provides insight into the thoughts and values that form the foundation for the King's journey into the role as Denmark's monarch.

The book was written by author Jens Andersen after a year and a half of interviews with the then Crown Prince. Kongeord was published just days after the change of throne in January 2024 and immediately became a great success.
The audiobook is also available on the usual platforms for audiobooks and podcasts. The printed edition of Kongeord will continue to be available for purchase as before.

The Minister of Culture has stated that Kongeord has contributed to increased interest in Danish history and the Royal House, and many Danes have appreciated the opportunity to hear the King himself read the book.
