Royal Couple Concluded State Visit in Tasmania
King Frederik and Queen Mary visited Tasmania, the Queen's birth island, as the final stop of their Australian State Visit. The programme included meeting locals, marine ecosystem research, a visit to the MONA art museum and a concluding state reception.
The Australian State Visit brought King Frederik and Queen Mary to Tasmania, the Queen's birth island. In the state capital Hobart, the royal couple was received by Tasmania's Governor Barbara Baker and her husband, Professor Donald Chalmers.

On a boat trip at Alum Cliffs, the royal couple joined researchers to learn about efforts to restore kelp forests and protect marine ecosystems. Along the way, the couple passed the Queen's former school.

The programme also included visits to the INCAT shipyard and The Agrarian Kitchen, as well as a visit to the MONA art museum where the royal couple was received by the museum's founder David Walsh and attended a concert by the Danish duo ROYA.

The day concluded with a state reception at Government House attended by specially invited guests. The Queen delivered a speech which also marked the conclusion of the State Visit to Australia.
