Tree Planting, War Memorial and Meeting with the Prime Minister in Canberra
The state visit to Australia continued in Canberra, where the royal couple began the day by planting two trees in the gardens of Government House. They then honoured the fallen at the Australian War Memorial and met Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
The state visit to Australia continued in the capital Canberra, where King Frederik and Queen Mary began the day in the gardens of Government House together with the Governor-General and her spouse. The royal couple planted two trees in the garden, where kangaroos on the lawn and cockatoos in the treetops are part of the natural surroundings.

During their stay in Canberra, the royal couple took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Australian War Memorial. They honoured the efforts of the Australian armed forces in wars and international operations since World War I. The royal couple placed poppies at the memorial plaques for Australian air officers Geoffrey Herbert Brandon Slinn and Henry James Brock. Slinn perished in 1944 during a mission dropping supplies to the resistance movement near Assens on the island of Funen, while Brock drifted ashore in Denmark in 1945 after bailing out of his aircraft and was later buried in Northern Jutland.

The royal couple also met Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and visited Australian Parliament House, where they were received by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Milton Dick. They also greeted members of the Danish-Australian parliamentary friendship group.

The day also included the opening of a Danish-Australian life science conference focusing on collaboration between authorities, businesses and research institutions on innovation, prevention and new health solutions.
