On December 25, 2025, King Frederik X and Queen Mary gathered the Danish royal family for traditional Christmas celebrations at Fredensborg Palace north of Copenhagen. The palace, often called the royal family's summer home, provided the setting for an intimate and cozy family gathering.
The royal couple was surrounded by their four children: Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. Queen Margrethe II was also present, celebrating her second Christmas as a retired monarch with the family.

Christmas dinner consisted of traditional Danish dishes, including duck or goose, red cabbage and caramelized potatoes. For dessert, risalamande was served, with the almond that brings luck to whoever finds it.
Crown Prince Christian, who is now 20 years old, has taken on more official duties over the past year and is clearly maturing into his future role. Christmas gave him the opportunity to spend valuable time with family away from the public spotlight.
