Royal Family shone at the Nobel Prize ceremony

King Carl XVI Gustaf and the royal family hosted the traditional Nobel ceremony in Stockholm.
On December 10, 2025, the Swedish royal family hosted the annual Nobel Prize ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall. King Carl XVI Gustaf presented the prizes to this year's winners in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and economics in a solemn ceremony.
Queen Silvia radiated at the King's side in a golden Georg et Arend gown that she had previously worn during the King's golden jubilee. She wore Queen Sofia's nine-pointed tiara with the Bernadotte emerald jewelry. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were also present, while Princess Sofia stayed home to care for Princess Ines.

The Concert Hall was filled to capacity with laureates, their families, prominent scientists and cultural figures from around the world. The ceremony opened with the Swedish national anthem and a speech by the Chairman of the Nobel Foundation.
King Carl XVI Gustaf, who has been presenting Nobel Prizes since 1973, performed the task with his usual dignity. Each laureate was celebrated with applause as they received their diploma and medal from the King.

After the ceremony, the traditional Nobel Banquet followed at Stockholm City Hall, where over 1,300 guests participated. Crown Princess Victoria gave a speech highlighting the importance of science in solving global challenges.
Princess Madeleine, who recently moved back to Stockholm from Florida, sparkled in a silver-gray cape gown by Jenny Packham and wore the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara. Prince Carl Philip also attended, but without Princess Sofia who was caring for their youngest daughter.

The Nobel Prize ceremony is one of the highlights of the Swedish Royal House's calendar and demonstrates Sweden's role as host of this international tribute to science and culture.
Crown Princess Victoria told the press that she was proud to be part of this tradition and hopes that the prizes inspire young people to pursue research and innovation.
