Crown Princess Victoria visited Riga, the capital of Latvia, on Wednesday. The occasion was the tenth anniversary of the Future Leaders Academy at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, SSE Riga. Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs welcomed her and accompanied her throughout the day.

Swedish students and a school for leaders
The day began at the National History Museum of Latvia. The Crown Princess then visited the Medical Education Technology Centre at Rīga Stradiņš University, where she met students from Sweden.
At SSE Riga she gave a speech to students and invited guests. She recalled that her father, King Carl Gustaf, opened the school in 1994. Each year the Future Leaders Academy brings together 20 young people from across Latvia to learn about leadership and meet politicians, journalists and other leaders.
The Crown Princess also opened a discussion about women who start and run their own businesses in Latvia and Sweden, and how they can more easily find investors and loans, so their businesses can grow.

Reception at Riga Castle
In the evening President Rinkēvičs hosted a reception at Riga Castle to celebrate the school's tenth anniversary. The Crown Princess was guest of honour, and a saxophone quartet from the Latvian armed forces played.
