Crown Princess Victoria opened the exhibition 'The Escape 43' at Landskrona Citadel. The exhibition tells the story of how more than 7,000 Danish Jews fled across the Sound to Sweden in the autumn of 1943.

Thanks to the rescue operation, the vast majority of Denmark's Jewish population survived the war. Swedish and Danish fishermen, together with ordinary citizens in both countries, helped bring the refugees safely across the Sound.
