King Frederik and Queen Mary Begin State Visit to Australia at Uluru

King Frederik and Queen Mary began their state visit to Australia on Saturday at the world-famous sandstone formation Uluru. The royal couple were welcomed by the Anangu people with traditional dance and culture.

King Frederik and Queen Mary began their state visit to Australia on Saturday at the world-famous sandstone formation Uluru in the heart of the Australian continent.

The royal couple arrived at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Cultural Centre, where they were received by the Anangu people. The Anangu are the traditional owners of this land and have a deep connection to Uluru stretching back thousands of years. The royal couple were welcomed with a traditional inma dance, an important part of Anangu culture.

During the visit, the royal couple met representatives from the local community and gained insight into the rich cultural heritage of the area. They also visited Kulata Academy Cafe, a social enterprise that provides job opportunities and training for young people from the Anangu community.

The day concluded with a beautiful sunset over Uluru, as the sandstone formation shifted colours in the warm evening light.
