Queen Mary Meets New UNFPA Executive Director at Amalienborg
Queen Mary met UNFPA's new Executive Director Diene Keita at Amalienborg to discuss the health and rights of girls and women.
The health and rights of girls and women were on the agenda when Queen Mary today met with the new Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Diene Keita.

The meeting took place at Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg, where the Executive Director briefed the Queen on UNFPA's ongoing work and priorities, as well as the challenges the organisation faces in its global efforts.
The Queen and Diene Keita also discussed the project "The 10 Million Safer Births Initiative", which the Queen launched last year in Nigeria. The initiative is built on a concrete and ambitious goal of providing up to 10 million women with access to safer births by the end of 2030 across sub-Saharan Africa.
Queen Mary has been patron of UNFPA since 2010.
