Princess Charlène lights Monte-Carlo up in pink
Princess Charlène marked the start of Pink October by lighting Casino Square pink. Through the month 24 buildings in Monaco are lit up, among them the Prince's Palace.
Princess Charlène lit Casino Square in Monte-Carlo pink on Saturday evening. It marked the start of Pink October, the international month of breast cancer awareness.

It is the 16th year running that the association Pink Ribbon Monaco has organised the event. The Princess is its honorary president.

• 24 buildings in pink
Throughout October, 24 buildings across the principality are lit up in pink, among them the Prince's Palace. The campaign draws attention to prevention, screening and treatment of breast cancer and other cancers affecting women.

Pink Ribbon Monaco was founded by Natasha Frost-Savio in 2011, and was the first association in the region to mark the month by lighting buildings in pink.
