As part of the celebration of their 50th anniversary, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a gala dinner in the White Sea Hall at the Royal Palace, with royal guests from several countries.
As part of the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a gala dinner in the White Sea Hall at the Royal Palace. The menu was a modernised version of the dishes served at their wedding luncheon in the same hall in 1976.

The guests included several foreign royals, among them King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Prince Gustav and Princess Carina of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, and Princess Takamado of Japan.
