Princess Leonor Awarded the Gold Medal of the Region of Murcia

Princess Leonor received several distinctions during a visit to the Region of Murcia, including the Gold Medal of the Region of Murcia in recognition of her completed military training.
Princess Leonor, the Spanish heir to the throne, was awarded three distinctions during a visit to the Region of Murcia in south-eastern Spain. The ceremonies took place at three different venues over the course of the day.
She first received the medal of the Regional Assembly, a recognition of her institutional representation of the Crown, her exemplary conduct and her commitment to public service.

She was then honoured by the municipality of San Javier at the town hall, where she was named an Adopted Daughter of the town.

The final distinction, the Gold Medal of the Region of Murcia, was presented at the Palace of San Esteban. The medal is the region's highest distinction and was awarded in recognition of the Princess having completed her military training at the General Air and Space Academy, which is located in San Javier.

During the event she met members of the regional government and former regional presidents, and she signed the region's Golden Book.
