The Princess of Wales Visits Salvador Allende Kindergarten in Reggio Emilia

On day two of her visit to Reggio Emilia, the Princess of Wales went to the Salvador Allende kindergarten, where she experienced an educational model that emphasises outdoor learning and the environment as 'the third teacher'.
On the second day of her visit to Reggio Emilia, the Princess of Wales went to the Salvador Allende kindergarten. The visit is part of the international work of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood on early childhood development.

The kindergarten follows an educational philosophy in which the environment is regarded as 'the third teacher', placing strong emphasis on outdoor activities and exploratory learning in nature.

During the visit, the Princess also took part in several outdoor activities with the children and tried out some basic Italian phrases such as 'Come ti chiami?' and 'Mi chiamo Caterina'. She also visited the city's creative resource centre, REMIDA.
