The Princess of Wales visited Reggio Emilia in northern Italy to highlight the city's renowned approach to early childhood development, as part of an international initiative by the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

The Princess was welcomed by Mayor Marco Massari and met several leading figures behind the so-called Reggio Emilia Approach, including Carla Rinaldi, Iona Bartoli and Eletta Bertani.

During the visit, the Princess took part in a clay workshop at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre, led by Marco Spaggiari, and met both children and professionals working with the educational model.
