King Felipe VI attended the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday together with Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía. The race was held at the new MADRING circuit in Madrid, and with it on the calendar Spain becomes the only country in Europe with two Grands Prix.
King Felipe VI of Spain attended the Formula 1 race in Madrid on Sunday 13 September, together with his daughters Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía. It was the first time the Spanish Grand Prix has been held in the capital.

• A new circuit in Madrid
The race weekend ran from 11 to 13 September at the new MADRING circuit, which has been built to host Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3.

• Spain gets two Grands Prix
Until now the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló has been the only Spanish venue to host a round of the Formula 1 World Championship.
With Madrid joining the calendar for 2026, Spain becomes the only country in Europe with two Grands Prix on the schedule.
