Prince George (13) started at Eton College in Berkshire on Tuesday, accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Wales. The school lies a stone's throw from Windsor Castle, and both Prince William and Prince Harry were pupils there before him.
Prince George (13) had his first day at Eton College in Berkshire on Tuesday 8 September. The Prince and Princess of Wales accompanied their eldest son to the school, where they were welcomed by Headteacher Simon Henderson and the chairman of the governing body, Provost Sir Nicholas Coleridge.

It was raining in Berkshire when the family arrived. The Princess carried an umbrella, while Prince William walked with his folded up beside his son.

Prince George was photographed in the school uniform Eton has kept for generations. It consists of a black tailcoat, a black waistcoat, a white shirt with a stiff collar and pinstriped trousers.

• The school beside Windsor
Eton College lies a stone's throw from Windsor Castle and takes boys aged 13 to 18. The school admits around 270 pupils in each academic year.
The chairman of the school's governing body holds the title of provost and is chosen by the Crown. Sir Nicholas Coleridge has held the post since 2024, chairing the body together with a vice-provost and ten fellows. The Headteacher, Simon Henderson, is responsible for the day to day running of the school.
Prince George is following in the footsteps of his father and his uncle. Prince William started at Eton in 1995, and Prince Harry in 1998.

George was born on 22 July 2013 and is second in line to the British throne, after his father Prince William. He previously attended Lambrook School in Berkshire, together with his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
