Princess Ingrid Alexandra will receive an official welcome at the University of Oslo on Monday. The Princess is coming on exchange from Sydney to be closer to her family.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra is becoming a student in the capital: on Monday 10 August at 10am, the Princess will be officially welcomed at the University of Oslo, on her very first day of studies there.

The Princess arrives as an exchange student from the University of Sydney, where she has studied since last year, and will take courses at the Faculty of Social Sciences. At the welcome she will be met by Rector Ragnhild Hennum, Dean Anne Julie Semb and student parliament leader Anna Bergum Furset.

The university states that this will be the only official event connected to the Princess's studies, after the welcome she will be an entirely ordinary student at the university.

The move home has a personal background: the Princess is taking her exchange in Oslo to be closer to her family, after Crown Princess Mette-Marit underwent a lung transplant in June.
