During the visit, Queen Camilla met with museum staff and received a tour of the historic collections. King Charles was not present for this visit, which took place in Wiltshire, some 132 kilometres from London.

A New Home for the Museum
The project will transform the historic Assize Court building into a new home for the Museum, giving their collections the space they deserve. This is an important step in preserving and showcasing the region's rich cultural heritage.

England's Largest Bronze Age Collection
The museum, established in 1874, contains the largest collection of Early Bronze Age gold ever put on display in England. It is also home to treasures from the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage site.
