The King and Queen Attend the First-Ever RHS Sandringham Flower Show

King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the historic first edition of the RHS Sandringham Flower Show, where the King presented his own biodiversity award and the couple arrived by horse-drawn carriage.
On Wednesday 22 July, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the very first edition of the RHS Sandringham Flower Show, held at the royal family's own Sandringham estate in Norfolk. In keeping with tradition, the royal couple arrived by open horse-drawn carriage, to loud cheers from the crowds.

King Charles is Patron of the Royal Horticultural Society, and among other things viewed the RHS Royal Legacy Garden, designed by Catherine MacDonald in collaboration with The King himself.

During the visit, the King presented The King's Biodiversity Award to Sophie Godber for The Mindful Chef's Gathering Garden, a prize honouring work championing horticulture and biodiverse spaces. He also named Roualeyn Fuchsias Best Exhibit in the Floral Marquee. Queen Camilla presented her own award, The Queen's Choice of Upcycled Containers, to The Pollinator Patch by a local horticultural society.
