Princess Anne concluded her official visit to Thailand with a gala performance at the National Theatre in Bangkok, featuring Thai and British musicians and the premiere of a play written by King Vajiravudh.

Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, carried out an official visit to Thailand on 16 and 17 July. The visit concluded on Friday evening with a gala performance at the National Theatre in Bangkok, where Thai and British musicians performed together, followed by the premiere of the play "The King's Command", written by King Vajiravudh.

It was the Princess's fourth visit to Thailand and her first since 1987. During the two days, she and Sir Timothy were received by the Thai King and Queen, and the Princess also met the country's Prime Minister. Her programme included a sporting event organised by Save the Children in Bangkok and a visit to the National Museum, with an exhibition on the historical ties between Thailand and the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom and Thailand established diplomatic relations as early as 1855, and the visit was highlighted as a celebration of the long and warm relationship between the two countries and their royal families.
