King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the province of Flemish Brabant, including the VUB Photonics campus in Pajottegem and meetings with the local population in Dilbeek.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde spent 5 May in the province of Flemish Brabant. The first stop was the VUB Photonics campus in Pajottegem, home to the Brussels Photonics (B-PHOT) research and innovation centre. The Royal Couple then visited the STEAM Academy, an educational centre dedicated to science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.

Later in the day, the Royal Couple travelled to the town square of Dilbeek to greet the local population. They then visited the Nieuwenbos Welfare Campus in Dilbeek, a site where various social services and organisations are brought together to support residents.

The visit concluded with a lunch at the neighbourhood restaurant on the campus, together with staff and visitors.
