The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the installation of Sarah Mullally as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, the first woman in the role's 1,400-year history.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were present at Canterbury Cathedral on Wednesday as Dame Sarah Mullally was formally installed as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury. Mullally is the first woman to hold the role in its 1,400-year history.

The ceremony marked the start of Mullally's public ministry as leader of the Church of England. Mullally worked as a nurse before becoming ordained, and has served as Bishop of London since 2018.

More than 2,000 guests were present at the ceremony, including senior members of the British Royal Family, the Prime Minister, and other dignitaries. Faith leaders, schoolchildren, and healthcare workers also attended the historic event.

For the occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a new cashmere wool coat from one of her favourite brands, Suzannah London.
