Roc Agel

Roc Agel is the private country estate of the princely family of Monaco, located on a hilltop in the commune of Peille in France, approximately 35 minutes from Monaco.

The property was purchased by Prince Rainier III in 1957, shortly after his marriage to Grace Kelly. While the palace in Monaco was used for official duties, Roc Agel was the family's vacation spot and refuge from the public eye.

Princess Grace loved the place and had her art studio here, while Prince Rainier developed the property into a working farm. Today the farm produces vegetables, fruit, eggs, and homemade cheese that are delivered to the palace. Prince Albert has continued his father's tradition of organic farming.

It was on the road from Roc Agel back to Monaco that Princess Grace died in a tragic car accident in 1982. The property remains private and is not open to the public, but is still a cherished retreat for Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, and their children.
