King Harald remains in hospital at Rikshospitalet, and his stay has been extended. The Royal Palace announced that the King will receive further treatment at the hospital.

The 89-year-old King has been hospitalised since Monday, August 17, following several weeks of cortisone treatment for haemolytic anaemia, a condition in which red blood cells break down faster than normal. The King is on sick leave for two weeks, and Crown Prince Haakon is serving as regent during this period.
The extension affects the autumn programme: the King will not take part in the planned visit to Trøndelag in early September, where the royal couple were due to visit the municipalities of Rindal and Høylandet, among others.
"His Majesty will not take part in the visit to Trøndelag. Her Majesty The Queen will carry out the visit as planned," the Palace stated, adding that a new update on the King's health will be given in the course of next week.
The royal family has visited the King several times in hospital; on Thursday, Crown Prince Haakon, Princess Märtha Louise and several of the children came by Rikshospitalet.
