The Máxima Series Gets a Third Season, With an All-New Cast

The TV series about Queen Máxima continues with a third season, jumping 15 years forward in time. The entire cast is being replaced: Natali Anna takes over the role of Máxima from Delfina Chaves.
A third season of "Máxima", the TV series about the Dutch queen, is on its way. And this time with an entirely new ensemble: the story jumps 15 years forward in time, and the whole cast is being replaced.

Natali Anna takes over the lead role as Máxima from Delfina Chaves, who has played her in the first two seasons. Ruben Brinkman becomes the new Willem-Alexander after Martijn Lakemeier. We also get to meet the royal couple's three daughters: Rosa van Leeuwen plays Princess Amalia, Fiene Mooij plays Princess Alexia, and Charlotte Kampinga plays Princess Ariane.
Elsewhere in the cast are Teun Luijkx as Prince Constantijn, Carolien Spoor as Princess Laurentien and Sophie van Winden as Mabel. Elsie de Brauw returns as Princess Beatrix.

The casting news was celebrated by Natali Anna's acting agency Bgency, which writes that they are very proud that she will be playing Máxima. The new season, produced by Millstreet Films, follows the early years of Máxima and Willem-Alexander's reign, as their daughters grow up while Máxima faces profound personal losses, national tragedies and the mounting pressures of public life and family.

The new season follows Máxima as queen, through a period of heavy trials for the royal family: her brother-in-law's skiing accident, her sister's death, and the MH17 disaster, in which 196 Dutch nationals lost their lives. The series explores how the Queen must accept that she cannot fix everything, while caring for her marriage, her family and her country.

Season 3 premieres on the streaming service Videoland in 2028. In Norway, the first two seasons have been available on TV 2 Play.
