Queen Máxima Opens WorldPride 2026 in Amsterdam

Queen Máxima officially opened WorldPride 2026 at Vondelpark. It is the first time Amsterdam hosts the international event, which puts human rights on the agenda.
On Saturday 25 July, Queen Máxima officially opened WorldPride 2026 at Vondelpark in Amsterdam. It is the first time the city hosts the international event, which highlights human rights and runs from July 25 to August 8.

Culture, human rights, connection, visibility and celebration are at the heart of the programme, which includes a Pride Walk from Dam Square to Vondelpark, a boat parade on the canals, the UNITY Concert at Museumplein, and a Human Rights Conference at Nieuwmarkt. The famous Canal Parade will be the highlight.

In connection with the opening, the Queen also visited Sport Pride and Youth Pride.

For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore a brown midi dress by Natan and an eye-catching hat of leaf-shaped feathers from the same design house.
