The Dutch royal family had travelled to the United States to support their teams at the FIFA World Cup. King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Ariane attended two group-stage matches on the same day.
The Dutch royal family had travelled to the United States to support their teams at the FIFA World Cup, where this year's tournament is being held. On 20 June, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Ariane attended two group-stage matches on the same day.

First, the three were present when the Netherlands faced Sweden at Houston Stadium in Houston, Texas. The royal family wore orange scarves and followed the match alongside, among others, the Dutch minister responsible for sport.

The royal family also got to meet the Dutch national team during the visit.

After the match in Houston, the family travelled on to support Curaçao, which is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in its match against Ecuador at Kansas City Stadium in Kansas City. Several government representatives were present there as well, among them the Prime Minister of Curaçao.
