Queen Máxima attended the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington to put global financial health on the agenda with ministers, central bank governors and development organisations.

The Spring Meeting of the IMF and the World Bank provided Queen Máxima with an opportunity to put global financial health on the map with ministers, central bank governors and development organisations, from Indonesia to Ghana, Latin America to Europe.

Topics range from insurance and savings buffers that protect people, to affordable loans for a better life, pensions, budgeting and the role employers can play. As G20 chair, the US is committed to financial literacy and financial health, and Queen Máxima discussed this with Finance Minister Scott Bessent.

In Washington, she also shared her Dutch experiences as honorary chair of the Financial Healthy Netherlands Foundation and the platform Wijzer in geldzaken.
