King Philippe and Queen Mathilde arrived in Stavanger on the last day of the state visit, accompanied by Crown Prince Haakon. The morning was dedicated to energy, and Belgium and Norway signed an agreement on the transport of industrial CO₂.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde arrived in Stavanger in south-west Norway on Thursday, the last day of the state visit. They were accompanied by Crown Prince Haakon, who met them upon arrival at Sola Air Station.

The entire morning was dedicated to energy. The Royal Couple met various public and private actors to discuss security of supply and energy transition, focusing on gas, oil, offshore wind and hydrogen.

In connection with the visit, Belgium and Norway signed an agreement to facilitate the transport of industrial CO₂ from Europe to subsea storage facilities in Norway. The agreement is an important step in cooperation between the two countries in carbon capture and storage.

The Royal Couple then visited the Energy Room at the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, an interactive space where young visitors can carry out experiments to better understand the origin, function and impact of different energy sources.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde also explored the old town of Stavanger, known for its white wooden houses from the 18th century. Old Stavanger is one of the best-preserved wooden house areas in Northern Europe.
