Queen Sofía Inaugurates Picasso Exhibition at Burgos Cathedral
Queen Sofía of Spain inaugurated the exhibition "Picasso. Biblical Roots" at Burgos Cathedral in Castile and León. The exhibition brings together 44 works by Pablo Picasso focusing on biblical references in his art.
Queen Sofía of Spain presided over the inauguration of the exhibition "Picasso. Biblical Roots" at Burgos Cathedral in Castile and León on Monday, March 2. The exhibition brings together works by the Málaga-born artist Pablo Picasso, focusing on the influence of biblical narratives and symbols throughout his creative career.

The exhibition features 44 works centred on biblical references and the influence of Christian imagery in Picasso's art. The selected work representing the exhibition is Maternité (1921), in which Picasso portrays his wife Olga holding their first son, Paulo, in her arms.

The exhibition will be on display from March 3 to June 29 in the Valentín Palencia Hall of Burgos Cathedral.
