Trial Against Marius Borg Høiby Has Begun
Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son appeared in Oslo District Court on Monday, charged with multiple criminal offenses.
On Monday, the extensive trial against Marius Borg Høiby (29) began in Oslo District Court. Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son faces a total of 38 criminal charges.

Høiby was originally charged in August 2024 following an incident at Frogner in Oslo. In August 2025, Marius Borg Høiby was indicted for 32 offenses. In January this year, six additional charges were added.

The charges include allegations of rape, assault, threats, violations of restraining orders, and drug offenses. The defendant denies the most serious charges but has admitted guilt for some of the lesser offenses.
The trial is scheduled to last seven weeks, and several of the victims were present in the courtroom on the first day. The prosecutor began by reading the indictment, while the defense presented their view of the case.
