The Royal Family Celebrated King's Day in Dokkum

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their three daughters celebrated King's Day 2026 in the Frisian town of Dokkum, where they experienced local traditions and the typical Frisian sport of kaatsen.
King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their three daughters, Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane, as well as Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien, attended the 2026 King's Day celebrations in Dokkum.

Along the route, the Royal Family was introduced to Frisian traditions and customs and tried the typical Frisian sport of kaatsen.

King's Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, celebrated on 27 April in honour of the King's birthday. For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore a yellow dress by Natan, Princess Amalia a red suit by Max Mara, Princess Alexia a red satin dress by Helsa, and Princess Ariane a lace blouse and trousers by Twinset Milano.
