The Royal Couple Visited Fishtown with Dutch Architecture and Art

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visited the Fishtown neighbourhood in Philadelphia during their working visit to the United States, where American and Dutch art and architecture are prominently displayed.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are on a working visit to the United States from Monday to Wednesday. The programme includes Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and Miami in Florida.
The working visit highlights the economic ties between the Netherlands and the states of Pennsylvania and Florida. The visit marks the strong bilateral relationship and historical ties between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United States, in the year in which the US reflects on 250 years of independence.
As part of the visit, the Royal Couple came to the Fishtown neighbourhood in Philadelphia, an area in development where American and Dutch art and architecture are prominently featured.

Further into the neighbourhood, the Royal Couple received an introduction to Dutch architecture and mural art in the area, and spoke with local residents.
