Queen Maxima visited the Anne-Bo Foundation in Amsterdam on March 11, an organisation that supports young women for whom studying is not a given. The foundation helps girls who grow up in poverty, have fled their home country or come from foster care, with personal coaching, scholarships, housing, study materials, networking and various workshops. The foundation was established in honour of the late student Anne-Bo.

During the visit, the Queen spoke with students and their coaches about the support they receive. She also met students living in Anne-Bo houses and heard about their personal situations and living arrangements. The Queen participated in a workshop on financial health, one of the foundation's activities, and concluded by speaking with the Anne-Bo Foundation's partners about their methods and future plans.
