Queen Máxima visited a shelter for homeless EU citizens in Amsterdam. The facility offers both day and night accommodation, social support and long-term perspective housing for people in need.

Together with alderman Rutger Groot Wassink, the Queen was given a tour of the facility and shown the various services available. She also learned about the pathway that homeless EU citizens can follow, from initial contact and guidance to more permanent support.

Representatives from the municipality and care and support organisations discussed with the Queen the cooperation between the organisations, the causes of homelessness among EU citizens and sustainable solutions.
